Dr. Boris Ka Chung Ng is an Assistant Professor and Presidential Young Scholar in the Department of Management and Marketing at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University’s Faculty of Business. His academic journey led him to earn his Ph.D. in Information Systems from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.

Dr. Ng’s research stands at the intersection of multidisciplinary fields and sophisticated machine learning techniques, aiming to tackle pressing societal challenges and derive valuable insights for the business world. His investigations contribute substantially to the sustainable development of AI in business and FinTech sectors. More specifically, his studies delve into strategic manipulation in machine learning, computerized textual analysis of fake news, and the behavioral dimensions of cybersecurity. These explorations hold both theoretical and practical significance for academia, institutions, and policymakers, playing a key role in bolstering the social and corporate governance aspects of ESG.

His scholarly contributions have made their way into top-tier business journals, such as Production and Operations Management and Journal of Management Information Systems, and have been presented at leading Information Systems conferences.

Currently, Dr. Ng is spearheading projects that push the boundaries of FinTech, RegTech, and LegalTech. He invites motivated and bright students to join his research team in roles like research student helpers, research assistants, postdoctoral researchers, or Ph.D. students.
